The Haverford Music Festival

Tags:

Did you know there is a big music festival, with 30 acts and lots of vendors, happening right in our backyards? And it's FREE?

The Haverford Music Festival takes place September 17, 2011 from noon to 8 p.m., in the Oakmont business area (Darby and Eagle Rds.) in Havertown. Come any time to enjoy music, food, drink, and fun for the whole family - there is a diverse mix of entertainment for all ages. For more information including a list of performers, please go to http://haverfordmusicfestival.org/.

Of course, an event of this magnitude could also really use your help. Volunteers get a festival T-shirt and get to be right in the heart of the action. Various sponsorship levels are available for businesses and residents. And vendor booth spaces are still available for local businesses. You can also donate. Please consider helping any way you can to make this event a success. Detailed information on how to get involved is available at http://haverfordmusicfestival.org/.

NOT A SABA EVENT : October 2, 2010 Event at Normandy Park

Tags:

Just for the record the event at Normandy Park - Saturday October 2, 2010 was not a S.A.B.A. South Ardmore Betterment Alliance Event. Normandy Park is available for rent from the Haverford Township Parks and Recreation Department.

I have received a few complaints, and wanted to everyone to understand that S.A.B.A. was not involved. We have had Music Events at the Park in previous years, but have not received complaints about the sound level.

Music and Planting at Normandy Park - Oct 4

Tags:

This year's fall Music and Planting Event at Normandy Park is scheduled for Oct 4, starting at 9:00 am.

The focus for the planting will be on enhancing the current garden beds around the periphery of the park and around the house, removing some sections of the hedge, and beginning to establish some new beds that will be planted in the spring. The sections of hedge that will have some portions removed this year will be along Cricket Ave and Normandy Rd. This is to further improve the appearance of the park and to open more entry points, especially considering the SABA 5k is happening the following weekend and will attract people from inside and outside our neighborhood.

Fall Music and Planting at Normandy Park

This is the fall event for planting and further beautifying Normandy Park. We are fortunate to have many talented musicians in our neighborhood. This year Scot Sax and Sharon Little will provide the musical entertainment. Other performers might join them and will be announced as they confirm their availability.

Please bring whatever plants you wish to donate to the park. This is a great time of year to thin those spring bulbs and summer bloomers. This fall planting event helps the park look a little better now but the real effect is seen in the spring when the new plantings sprout, bloom and bring a splash of colors.

We will also begin to develop our plans for the spring planting and the next phase of park improvements.

So, come out with you plants, tools, enthusiasm, and ideas and join us as we have a good time making improvements to our little neighborhood gem.
