SABA Meeting 3/11/2009

Tags:

The meeting attendance goal was met... The number of people attending the meeting doubled the attendance figure for February. A number of new faces with many new good ideas. Excellent... Thanks to everyone that attended, and I hope that we can continue to grow. Dr. Klepfer was on hand to help plan the dedication of the Rotary Club's Cherry Trees planting at Normandy Park. The trees are part of a historic exchange program with Japan. The tree planting was actually funded by a Rotary Club in Japan. Details on this effort will be detailed in a separate entry.

Due to some newly imposed restrictions / procedures we have found it necessary to cancel our April 4th Spring Planting. The event will now involve the dedication of the Cherry Trees, and our first attempt at an Easter Egg Hunt. Flyers have been made, and will now need to revised.

At 11:OO we will be conducting a dedication of the Three Cherry Trees planted by the Rotary Club as part of a very interesting exchange program involving Japan. Following this we will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt. Plans are still be developed, but I wanted everyone to be able to reserve time on there calendar for this event.

Hit and Almost Run

Yet another Alledged Drunken Driver incident on Cricket Ave. At 4:00 in the afternoon a small SUV side swiped my niece's car parked in front of our home. Fortunately my alert neighbor experienced in the sound of park cars be smashed ran outside, and saw the woman attempting to drive away, and flagged her down. The driver ackwardly walked up to our front door. She nearly fell into my wife, and explained that her speech was slurred because of a problem with her dentures, and her walking was a problem with her back. She presented her information an expired insurance card, and what we later learned was an incorrect name. She was about to leave and my daughter said she should wait, because the police had been contacted. I have not seen a copy of the police report to date so remember this is alledged.

SABA MEETING 2/11/08

6 Members braved the Spring like weather to attend the SABA Monthly Board meeting last night. I really appreciate everyone that attended, and also the number of people that contacted Bill to let us know that they were unable to attend due to conflicts. Our goal is to at least double the number of attendees at our March meeting.

Last night we were informed that our two trash containers, picnic table, and T-ball benches have arrived at the Township. They will be installed by the Township as weather and time permits. These were the last items to be purchased with the Grant we received in cooperation with now former Senator Connie Williams.

We agreed to hold a Easter Egg Hunt in conjunction with our Spring Planting. A flyer is being prepared and will be posted through-out the neighborhood, posted on this web-site, and an E-mailed to the 250+ people on our Distribution List.
