How to include photos in your posts

We at SABA are a big fan of the Flickr photo sharing service. It's fast, it's cool, and most importantly, it's free to use. We encourage all of our members to upload photos that they take at community events there.

Including photos in your blog posts is easy, and I'm going to show you how to do it.

For my first exmaple, I am going to use the photo found http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmuth/477848952. While that gigantic URL looks a bit scary, all you really have to concern yourself with is the number at the end: 477848952.

Now that you have the number of your photo, all you need to is insert the following piece of text into your post:

[flickr-photo:id=477848952]

And this is what we'll get:

Easy, isn't it? But that size is a bit large. You can only fit a single image at a time on the screen. Well, here's how you can make an image smaller:

[flickr-photo:id=477848952,size=m] gives you:

and [flickr-photo:id=477848952,size=s] makes the image tinier still:

Now that you understand how to link to single images, what happens when you want to link to a set? For this example, I'm going to work with the set of pictures found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmuth/sets/72157600158438654/. First, be sure to look for that number again. Here you will see that it is 72157600158438654. Now, you're going to write a slightly different tag:

[flickr-photoset:id=72157600158438654,size=m]

And the image you'll get is the image for that entire set:

Clicking on the above image will take you to the page for the entire set.
