Creek Clean-Up, Saturday, Nov 6
If you've ever walked by the section of Cobbs Creek that runs adjacent to the bus route right next to Chestnutwold and glanced down into the water, you've probably noticed all of the trash and thought to yourself "I wish someone would DO something about that!" Well, now you can! Grab your kids and come get DIRTY and help CLEAN out the creek! The Chestnutwold Elementary PTO and SABA are coordinating a creek clean-up. Meet us on the bus route next to the creek, right outside the basketball court, at 9a.m. on November 6th. For more information, contact Lisa Taglang at firstname.lastname@example.org or Patty Lindner at email@example.com.
We have had clean-up events like this at least once a year for several years and the result is clearly evident. Every year, we see more healthy plant and animal life in the creek. Unfortunately, we do need to continue having these events to maintain and further the progress. The great thing is that everyone has a lot of fun. It's one of the few times that parents actually encourage their kids to get in the creek. Plus, there's always the adventure of what creatures will be found and who will pull out the most unusual piece of trash. Please wear shoes that are fairly sturdy and that you don't mind getting WET.
See you in the creek.
