Update on Winter newsletter

Tags:

SABA publishes a newsletter about the events and activities of the civic association and neighborhood. This newsletter is distributed to every household in the community twice a year. Usually this occurs in the fall and spring. Last year we did not write a newsletter in time for distribution in the fall, Therefore, we are trying to write and distribute one this winter.

The content of the newsletter typically includes a review of some recent SABA events, plans for upcoming events, updates on community projects, a list of officers and key volunteers, and information for contacting and donating to SABA. Other articles or submissions are welcome.

Erica Keagy has written a review of the first SABA 5k, held in October. I will write a piece about Bill Davis, a long-time SABA volunteer who died last year, and the memorial at Normandy Park that is being planned for him. I will also provide information about the volunteer positions that are currently open and need volunteers. If you are involved in a SABA project or event, I urge you to write a brief summary of the progress or plans.

We also need a volunteer to help with the layout and printing of the newsletter. In the past, we used the program Publisher. If you are familiar with that program and have access to it or a similar program, please let me know.

Please post a blog entry if you will contribute to the newsletter or can help in some way. This online discussion can help further our communication and plans for this.
