Here is an update from the last SABA meeting:

1. Collection of dues
Your dues and donations provide the funding for SABA's events and activities. A form that can be submitted with donations will be included in the next newsletter. Information about donating anytime is available on the website.

2. Bank account signatures and access
Treasurer, Nancy Telford, was unable to attend and so could not provide an update on Ed Magargee, Acting President, having his signature added to the bank account for access.

3. Review of officers and committees
President Open
Vice President (Acting President) Ed Magargee
Treasurer Nancy Telford
Assistant Treasurer Katrine Sutton
Volunteer Coordinator Bill Gardner
Recording Secretary Open
Corresponding Secretary Open
Public Relations Liaison Peter Jensen
Web Designer Doug Muth
Civic Council Liaison Bill Davis

Information about each office can be found on the website. If you are interested in any of the open positions or offices that are up for re-election, please contact any of the officers. Nominations are being taken and elections will be held before the next annual meeting.

Most of the committees are ad hoc group meetings that pertain to particular SABA events of activities

4. Review of activities for 2009
Spring Planting event and Easter Egg Hunt
Neighborhood yard sale
July 4th
Creek Clean-up
Fall Planting and Music in the Park Event
Luminaria Night

Other activities being considered for this year include:
1. A survey asking for your input and opinions about SABA (e.g., how would you like to learn about SABA events and announcements, what more you would want from the website, suggestions for increasing attendance at meetings and participating in events, etc.).

2. A contest to design a new SABA logo

5. Plans for spring park planting at Normandy Park
This year's event will be held April 4. It will include further planting and improvement of the landscaping of the park. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. As with past spring planting events, any plants you are considering thinning or removing from your own property can be donated to the park. The planting is scheduled for 8am to 11am (or later if we have more plants) and the Easter Egg Hunt will be at 11:00. A flier will be sent out announcing the event.

Please let any officer know if you have questions about any event. Also, please consider joining us at our monthly meetings with your suggestions and input about these events and any other issue that is important to you about our neighborhood. Our meetings are the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM at Chestnutwold Elementary. The next meeting is March 11.
