SABA MEETING 2/11/08

6 Members braved the Spring like weather to attend the SABA Monthly Board meeting last night. I really appreciate everyone that attended, and also the number of people that contacted Bill to let us know that they were unable to attend due to conflicts. Our goal is to at least double the number of attendees at our March meeting.

Last night we were informed that our two trash containers, picnic table, and T-ball benches have arrived at the Township. They will be installed by the Township as weather and time permits. These were the last items to be purchased with the Grant we received in cooperation with now former Senator Connie Williams.

We agreed to hold a Easter Egg Hunt in conjunction with our Spring Planting. A flyer is being prepared and will be posted through-out the neighborhood, posted on this web-site, and an E-mailed to the 250+ people on our Distribution List.

We discussed at some length how to increase our membership, and active participants. One idea was to have SABA T-Shirts made for block captains etc. to wear around the neighborhood. We also discussed the idea of having our Commissioner provide us with the names and addresses of new people moving into the neighbor in order that we could make some type of contact. It was a great discussion with some new ideas that were certainly welcomed.

The Fourth of July was noted as being a priority event, and the idea of finding some form of musical entertainment to lead the parade was mentioned for the wish list. The Yard Sale was also debated, and opinions were mixed on the best way to deal with this issue. Bill suggested a survey, and it was agreed that would be the way for us to make a decision.
