It's our favorite event of the year! Come celebrate the 4th of July with SABA! To volunteer, click HERE The day begins with a parade of bikes, strollers and wagons decked out in red, white and blue, leaving from Chestnutwold Elementary at 10am. We will wind our way through the neighborhood and end up at Elwell Field for the "best-decorated" contest, field events, the Big Splash, and lots of good food for purchase, including Owl's Water Ice!
Bring your own water bottle, and we'll provide free refills. Finally, stick around for a visit from the Oakmont Fire Department! They'll be showing off one of their trucks and hosing down the crowd. We need volunteers on the day of the event! Please sign up HERE today, as it will help us plan. Feel free to sign up for multiple roles, selling hot dogs, helping with the field games, or working the tattoo table. You can also contribute items to our SABA Bake Sale Table, lend us pop-up tents, or donate other supplies. There is no rain date for this event. If the weather is questionable, please check this website or our Facebook page (S.A.B.A. South Ardmore Betterment Alliance) to verify whether we will proceed. How to place your order for Bad Mother Shuckers:
Pick up your food during your selected time at Normandy Park, and stick around for live music by neighborhood band The Basement Apes! Prepaid orders for BMS will be prioritized, but some food may be available for purchase at the truck itself. We recommend ordering early! Grab your basket and put on your Easter bonnet! The 2023 SABA Easter Egg hunt is coming! All kids aged 10 and under are welcome to participate. Want to donate some candy-filled eggs, or volunteer on the day of the hunt? Sign up HERE. Note: due to the forecast, the egg hunt has been postponed to April 8. See you there! Thanks to our creative neighbors, we had four fun entries this year!
Cast your vote for your favorite SABA Scarecrow HERE by Saturday, 11/12. A beautiful day in the neighborhood is also a beautiful day to build a scarecrow!
Is your front yard looking lonely? Are you looking for a new use for that old shirt? Have any extra newspaper laying around? Keep the birds away from your crops while making a spooky statement! Enter the SABA scarecrow contest! You can build your own scarecrow with materials you have on hand: an old button-down shirt, pants, gloves, plastic milk container, stockings, plastic bag. Old newspaper or leaves can be used as stuffing. Old broomsticks work well as a scarecrow frame, or try sitting your scarecrow down on an old chair or bike. You’re only limited by your own creativity! Your scarecrow can be scary, classic, or have its own theme…maybe you'll make a scarecrow family! Scarecrow-making tutorials can be found online if you need some ideas. Last year’s winner is shared above. To join the contest, submit your information HERE by midnight, November 5. Check back here to vote on this year's winners! Winners will receive gift cards to local businesses, plus bragging rights. Can't wait to see your scarecrow! Visit https://dos-hermanos-tacos.square.site/... to see the menu and place your order for Dos Hermanos Tacos! Dos Hermanos will only sell orders placed before 7:00pm the night before (Sept 20).
Please follow these steps carefully, and send any questions about the order to 2hermanostacos@gmail.com:
