New Neighbors Page

hi Everyone - I used the template that Shannon Hess and volunteers created to create a Welcome to the Neighborhood page. If you have other useful information to share, let me know and I will add it.

Please note that we will create a "Neighbor's Recommendation" page where your favorite shops, restaurants, auto mechanics, dry cleaners, etc. can be listed to help new neighbors. Until that page is constructed (and it could take a bit of time), please send your recommendations to Doug Muth webmaster@sabanews.org and he will add them to the service map found at the Welcome to the Neighborhood page.
Thanks! Diane

Vegetable Gurus Needed for Normandy Park Vegetable Garden

Calling all community gardeners! If you want to help with our first ever Normandy Park Vegetable Garden let me know - Diane W.

Gardeners of every size are needed!

Summary of May 13 SABA Meeting

if you missed our meeting - quick summary: reviewed $10,000 state grant will be spent per outline of contract for Normandy Park: $2,500 for hedge improvement; $2,500 for walkway, entry points to park; $2,500 for benches/tables; $1,000 for trees, plants, growing things; and $1,500 for ongoing gardens.

Elwell Field vs. Normandy Park for 4th of July - we can't decide - will let neighbors vote via email and web page. Which location is preferred?

Summer Newsletter to be distributed shortly (a copy will be put on web page). Block captains will be notified as to pick up time at Diane's house to get copies. STREETS that don't have block captains....we will send out another announcement looking for volunteers.

Upcoming Events May 17 and June 7.

Web site - need photos - send to Doug Muth web master

Next neighborhood issue to tackle - traffic/speeding in neighborhood. Need several neighbors to spear head this project. See newsletter for more information.

Passing of SABA Volunteer Anthony "Tony" Damasco - Assistant Treasurer

It is with deep sadness that SABA announces the passing of an energetic and devoted neighborhood volunteer - Anthony "Tony" Damasco of Aubrey Avenue. Tony served as SABA's Assistant Treasurer and volunteered at many events including park cleanups, neighborhood garage sales, and the 4th of July celebration held at Elwell Field. His enthusiasm for life and high spirits will be greatly missed.

Overview of the SABA site

I'm testing out the web site tonight 2/26 - looking good.....

Send reminder to Doug that Meetings under Topics has three "e"s...which will need a tweak.

Logo letters too light also - will send new logo with better color on it.

Looking forward to having others test this and kick it around.

Diane
