The 2010 4th on the 3rd of July Athletic Events have been concluded, We want to thank Haverford A.C.'s for once again providing the manpower to conduct this traditional favorite part of the 4th of July event. Special Thanks to Rick Palena, Steve Winnick, Rob Stadnicki, Michael McGuire and Ronnie O'Conner. Rebecca Keagy also served as recorder of results. Please let me apologize in advance for any mis-spelled names. The information was gathered rather quickly in the field.

The South Ardmore Betterment Alliance's - 2010 4th on the 3rd of July Celebration started off with a traditional decorated wagon, bike, scooter, stroller competition. All the participants did an excellent job. Special thanks to our Judges who had a difficult job in selecting the winners. Our Judges were Rebecca Devine, Commissioner Larry Holmes and. Erica Keagy who also served as our recorder to document the accomplishments below.

The 2010 Independence Day Celebration sponsored by the South Ardmore Betterment Alliance was held July 3rd this year due to the 4th falling on a Sunday. We were assisted in conducting the event by the Haverford Athletic Association, and by the Community of Faith Six:Eight. It was an excellent day, and all our volunteers did an excellent job to make it an enjoyable event for our neighborhood once again.

What better way to document the success of the event than through photographs. This year our photographs were taken by Christine Magargee, Stephanie Janson, and of myself. Looking back on this afternoon's event I can not help, but remember how we had to fight the developer who wanted to build the duplexes at Normandy Park. The Park had a small river running through it today, just as we had claimed happens. Inlets designed to take water from the Street were pouring water out into the street. Cars were floating, and a few sinking. Basements were flooded, but fortunately to my knowledge sewage did not seem to back-up. Need to keep watching this, however as people with improperly connected sump pumps start filling up the the sewer lines as they pump out their basements.
